Coal and nuclear own the US government. How do I know? Uncle Sam is putting a moratorium on solar. He wants to do an enviro impact assessment. What about the enviro impact of locking in coal for 50 years? People who say renewable energy will have its day in the sun when the market is ready don’t get that the entrenched power of industry is preventing the market from functioning freely. Argh.
I’ve been screaming this for years.

This entertainment cabinet has a built in fan made to cool down the harddrives your Tivo, Apple TV, Sling Box, or Mac Mini, extending the life and safety of your components.
I feel like pretty soon, most TV’s will be connected to computers/the internet. We definitely use our new tv more for watching online episodes on hulu/veoh than watching stuff over the rabbit ears. It sure would be nice to have a fan-cooled cabinet. My desktop is huge and ugly.
So I read Glen Beck’s arguement on why we should drill off the coast for oil and was shocked at the ignorance of his position. I decided to post a comment on what he neglected to mention in his article. Miraculously, it was removed/never posted, even though I did not violate the terms and conditions. You will also note that most of the comments are in support of his position. How many more comments were removed or posted?
What I was trying to say, in a few more words:
Recently, an oil exec was interviewed and gave his definition of off-shore drilling. Basically, they drill holes at $1 million a pop, with a 1% chance of actually finding ANY oil. That means they could spend $100 million drilling 100 holes before seeing AN OUNCE of oil. Furthermore, the quantity of oil in Alaska is only enough to feed America’s demand for a couple of months.
So I ask: how will that alleviate the price?
In other news, the BLM put a moratorium on solar energy plants because they are not sure of the effects on plants/animals. Yes, the same BLM that allows the clearcutting of forests. Yes, the same BLM that is leasing 80 million acres to the oil and gas industry. It’s clear that the solution to our problems is alternative renewable energy. It’s peope like you, Mr. Beck, that are keeping progress from happening.
P.S. It’s still the oil companies’ oil. They will charge whatever they want for it. They’re not going to give the American consumers a break just because it came from Alaska.
